Hi! I'm April.
I'm an intuitive natural light photographer based out of Asheville, North Carolina. My work is heavily influenced by my appreciation for connection, authenticity and the natural world. For me, photography is a tangible way to capture the small, simple moments of life that so easily go unnoticed. A way to linger a little longer with these moments and honor them as an important part of our stories. I have a keen eye for capturing moments of delight - the ones that make life meaningful and rich - and turning them into photographs which become portals back into precious moments in time.
Some fun facts about me:
I'm an enneagram 9w1, I laugh easily and have a knack for seeing the bright side in most situations. I spend most of my days with bare feet and I never leave home without a book. I've taught English in Thailand, been skydiving in New Zealand, surfing in Australia, backpacking in Italy, busking in Turkey, hitchhiking in Zanzibar and camping in Iceland. Before embracing photography as a career, I spent my days as a kindergarten and preschool teacher. When I don't have my camera in hand, you can find me hanging out with my family, homeschooling our boys, running, gardening, cooking, reading, facilitating Circle of Security Parenting groups and being outside as much as possible.
